PE & Sports Premium
In 2013, the Government announced funding of £450m for Primary school PE.
Each school received a set amount depending on the number of pupils on roll. Our school received £8000 a year plus £5 per pupil.
In the academic year 2017-18, the PE and Sport Premium was increased. Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil. Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and Sport they offer. The improvements made now will need to benefit pupils joining the school in future years.

ALL pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
Objective
To achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in primary schools. It is important to emphasise that the focus of spending must lead to long lasting impact against the vision (above) that will live on well beyond the Primary PE and Sport Premium funding.
It is expected that schools will see an improvement against the following 5 key indicators:
1.The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting healthy active lifestyles
2.The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
3.Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
4.Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
5.Increased participation in competitive sport
